Meet the Family Behind Kendaville Farms
Kendaville Farms is a family effort, guided by a shared belief that healthy soil creates healthy food, and healthy food sustains healthy families. We are Amanda and Jesse, partners in life, work, and purpose — raising our children and stewarding this land together.
Amanda
Amanda’s journey into growing began in 2010, shortly after marrying Jesse. What started as a small backyard garden quickly became a passion rooted in curiosity, nourishment, and care. Over the years, she expanded her gardening knowledge season by season — learning to grow, preserve, ferment, and can food from scratch so her family could eat from the land they tended.
While raising Audrey, Samson, Noah, and Gabriel, Amanda grew gardens, babies, skills, patience, and roots. Every season taught something new — how to enrich the soil instead of deplete it, how to work with nature’s rhythms, and how to find gratitude in slow, steady progress.
In 2025, driven by a desire to more deeply understand how to build sustainable structures and systems on the farm, Amanda became a licensed builder. This step allows her to take an active role in shaping the physical growth of Kendaville Farms — including development of the Earth Power Lodge — a place devoted to wellness, education, and community gathering.
Amanda is the heart of the farm’s vision — nurturing growth from the ground up.
Jesse
Jesse is the quiet backbone of everything happening here.
He is the reason we started preserving, fermenting, and making our own food.
Long before the orchard was planted, Jesse was experimenting with homemade foods, slow cooking, seed varieties, irrigation, compost, and long-term sustainability. He believes deeply that families thrive when they are connected to their food — and that has shaped our home and farm from the beginning.
Jesse is a licensed HVAC contractor, which has become an incredible strength for the long-term vision of Kendaville Farms. His knowledge of geothermal systems, heating, cooling, and off-grid design will be the foundation of the Earth Power Lodge — built to run independently, efficiently, and in harmony with the land.
Jesse brings practicality to vision, hands-on skill to dreams, and grounded wisdom to growth.
Our children — Audrey, Samson, Noah, and Gabriel — are not just watching this farm develop; they are helping build it.
They have dug holes for fruit trees, built fences, hauled rocks, planted berries, watered seedlings, searched for worms, picked vegetables, asked good questions, made mistakes, tried again, and discovered (in their own ways) that the world is alive — and we are part of it.
This farm is shaping them.
And they are shaping this farm.
Together
We are building Kendaville Farms not for speed, or trend, or aesthetics —
but for roots.
To restore the land.
To grow real, nutrient-dense food.
To strengthen our bodies and our community.
To live a life grounded in what matters.
And to offer a place where others can come to learn, rest, reconnect, and grow.
Welcome to Kendaville Farms.
Grow with us. 🌱
